Pros

The Epson Workforce ES-50 is an ultra-portable, compact document scanner. It fits in most bags and only needs one cable to connect to your laptop to work. The fact that it doesn't need an additional power supply to power on makes it super convenient to have especially when you're on the go and need to scan something. It's lightweight and the software does not require a lot of effort to use too. It's a straightforward device and simple to set up.

The Epson ES-50 also scans cards like licenses, insurance cards and business cards without getting stuck or jammed.

Cons

There are only really two downsides to this device.

  1. It's a single feed document scanner. Scanning multiple page documents would be pretty time consuming to do.

  2. You need a steady hand if you want to scan a document without it getting skewed.

The Final Verdict

After continual testing of the device, the Epson Workforce ES-50 is an especially useful tool to have on hand. It's fast, does the job well. It does not require a lot of cables or technical knowledge to run. It's not fancy or requires any subscription to use as far as software goes. I would rate this device a 4.5 out of 5 stars. The software converts documents into PDF's which can be opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader. It has a few other settings too which make it useful to use.
