Faxage Review: Online Faxing Without a Fax Machine
Updated: Sep 27
A lot of offices still need to send and receive faxes, especially in healthcare, legal and real estate. But keeping a fax machine and a phone line just for faxing is expensive and outdated. An online fax service gives you a fax number that works through email and a website, with no machine or phone line required.
I've set up Faxage for clients who needed a simple, affordable fax line. Here's my review.
What Faxage Does
Faxage gives you a real fax number. People fax you like they always have, and the fax arrives in your email as a PDF. To send a fax, you upload a document on their website or send an email, and Faxage delivers it to the other fax machine.
Web faxing: send faxes from their website.
Email to fax and fax to email: send and receive right from your inbox.
API faxing: connect it to your own software if you need to.
Local or toll-free numbers: pick whichever fits your business.
Pricing
Faxage keeps pricing simple. Every plan includes the same features; you're only choosing how much faxing you do. As of September 2026, prices look like this:
Lite: $3.49 a month, pay per minute for faxing. Good for occasional faxes.
Professional: $7.95 a month with 300 minutes included.
Unlimited Inbound: $19.95 a month for offices that mostly receive faxes.
Small Office: $29.95 a month with unlimited inbound and 400 outbound minutes.
Every new fax number has a one-time $5 setup fee, and extra numbers are $3.49 a month. Check Faxage's pricing page for current prices and their volume plans.

Ease of Use
The Faxage website isn't flashy, and that's a good thing. The layout is simple, and sending a fax takes a few clicks. The admin center lets you manage users, add fax numbers and change settings without digging through menus. They also have a YouTube video to help you get set up.

Security
Faxage advertises HIPAA compliance, which matters for medical offices and anyone handling health information. It also supports secure faxing with PGP encryption, so faxes are encrypted between Faxage and your email instead of arriving as plain attachments.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
Low monthly prices, with every feature included in every plan.
No fax machine or phone line needed.
Simple, no-nonsense interface.
HIPAA compliance and encrypted faxing options.
Local and toll-free numbers.
Cons:
The website looks dated compared to newer services.
Per-minute charges on the smaller plans can add up if you fax a lot.
My Verdict
If you need a fax number without the hassle of a fax machine, Faxage is one of the most affordable, straightforward options I've used. It's especially good for small offices and medical practices that fax regularly but don't want to pay for a big platform.
