When setting up a computer with Windows 10, Microsoft has been pushing users to create an account with an email account. Windows gives users an option to either sign in or create an account with Microsoft to proceed forward with setting up that computer you got. But what if you don't want to create a windows account or use a pre-existing email address to sign in?

Well good news! There's a way to create a local login without having to provide your email address or create a new Microsoft email account to get in and it's easy to do! Follow the steps below:

Windows is broken down into a few different sections. After completing the Basics and Network sections you'll come to the Account section and will be presented with 2 options: Personal use or Organizational use: For this guide, we'll be using the Set up for personal use option.

After selecting Set up for personal use, you'll be prompted to sign in with a Microsoft Account:

In the Email, phone, or Skype box, you can simply put in anything you like as long as it mimics an email address. You can simply write in a@a.com or, in this example fake@fake.com and then press Enter on your keyboard or the Next button on your screen.

It's important to note that the option to create an offline account might not be present during setup on all devices.

You'll then be prompted with the password screen. just type any letter and press enter, there just needs to be a single character in the box.

Then hit Enter or Next to move to the next screen where windows will try and sign you into the account but can't. You'll receive the following error:

Don't be alarmed at this screen. In fact, this is exactly the screen we want to see! From here hit next and you'll be prompted to create your local user account.

After you put in your local account name, press Next and enter a password. Press Next again and finish your pc set up. After completing the setup you'll be signed into your account.
